FAQs

Is MHT-CET different from JEE / NEET?
Yes — MHT-CET is Maharashtra-only and covers undergraduate admissions for Engineering, Pharmacy, and Agriculture. Different paper structure from JEE / NEET. Pharmacy stream uses the PCB or PCM paper.
How does the Maharashtra domicile rule work?
Government and aided seats reserve ~70% for Maharashtra-domicile candidates. Management-quota seats are open to all India. Domicile = parent has lived in Maharashtra ≥10 years OR you completed 10+2 in a Maharashtra board school.
Are Mumbai colleges worth the higher fees?
Depends on career goals. Mumbai pharma industry density (Cipla, Sun Pharma, Lupin HQ) creates internship and placement pipelines that tier-2 cities can't match. For retail/hospital pharmacy careers, Pune/Nagpur/Nashik offer 80% of the value at 50% of the cost.
What's the difference between aided and unaided private?
Aided private receives partial state funding (mid-band fees ₹30-70k/yr). Unaided private sets its own fees freely (₹40-150k/yr). PCI degree is identical.
Can I switch to a Maharashtra college mid-course from another state?
Yes — PCI permits inter-state transfer with both colleges' NOC. Process takes 4-6 weeks. Most common reason: ₹40-60k/year fee savings if source college is premium private.
